Letters to the Editor

January 2010 Letters:

Dear Editor:

My compliments on all articles and formats that make a great periodical. I wish the same could be said about the Bee. But let us not waste a good holiday cheer discussing the bad points of a worthless newspaper. I am a new reader of your paper and have found it to be the breath of fresh air for those of us who have long grown weary of reading how great things are going when all anyone has to do is look around and see that indeed they aren’t. The intellectual elite and those that would dare not sway away from being politically correct for fear up ruffling a few feathers had better take a second look and readjust their agendas. Thank God for the Alliance and all its staff.

I am a pre-law student at FCC in my third semester. My long-term plans are that I attend San Joaquin Valley College of Law. The question is what does a native-born Valley guy do in the meantime other than go to school. I’ve tried to contact several people, organizations and other nonprofit community oriented entities that have been subject matter in the Alliance but have not had one response. All students are required to know how to write, research, interview and analyze subject matter that would have to be admissible in a court of law and do it all under the tightest of time constraints. Some of us have volunteered our services in exchange for a grade (work experience), but have had very disappointing results. We are trying to help by being part of the solution. We all have areas of expertise. My personal area is working in trying to establish a unique program available or geared toward those who are or have been incarcerated and their families. The story by the lady Ms. Jane Dorotik was very touching. How can I contact her? These are the people that would appreciate the help. I am in constant contact with the "Innocence Project." I also deal in the area of Corporate Law, Torts and Contracts.

In conclusion, please be informed that your paper is being read in detail and that we stand ready and willing to help the people toward forging a stronger "Alliance" for the betterment of the community. Thank You, God Bless.
